Meet Our Staff

Dr. Johann obtained his bachelor degrees in medicine and surgery ( M.B.Ch.B.) at the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 1984. After the completion of his internship, he spent 4 more years of training in various fields of medicine and surgery before becoming a general practitioner in rural South Africa.

Dr. Johann immigrated with his family to Canada during 1998 to continue his medical career as a family physician. After spending 2 years in Morden, MB and 3 years in Corner Brook, NL, he moved to Alberta in 2003 and opened his own medical practice in the City of Calgary.

Dr. Johann entered the exciting and satisfying field of medical aesthetics in 2005. He has successfully completed several courses in medical aesthetics including:
• Advanced Botox applications;
• Advanced use of fillers for facial volume restoration and augmentation;
• Advanced Laser and IPL applications;
• Sclerotherapy;
• Environ medical aesthetic skin products.

Dr. Johann is an accredited member of both the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine, and the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

Apart from being passionate about the medical aesthetics industry, Dr. Johann is a keen wildlife photographer. He is married to Dr. Helena Mentz, (also a Calgary family physician) and they have four children.
